Pleased To Meet Me

2012.5.5 ‒ 5.27
184-16 Yamate-cho, Naka-ku, Yokohama, Japan

2012.5.5 ‒ 5.27

Hayama Projects is pleased to present a group exhibition of work by artists based in Japan and Los Angeles. "Pleased To Meet Me" is the first Warehouse Project event to be held in a warehouse in central Yokohama. Unused for over 10 years, the raw space is owned by an import/export company, and appropriately, this first show features artists from both sides of the Pacific.
It is increasingly difficult to group people into geographic schools of art practice, as artists can instantly draw influence and obtain materials from across the globe. The title "Please To Meet Me" reflects the exhibition's diverse group of artists (most who are showing together for the first time). By presenting the work of these artists together we uncover new meanings and form new relationships between myriad forms and media.
