Title of this exhibition "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" is a well-known pangram which contains all alphabets from A to Z. Two kinds of holes are created in the gallery space to take in the direct sunlight and wind. The relationship bitween the fox and dog is explored using the sunlight and wind in this narrow three-story building.
黄金町のbujikoboでのプロジェクト。
かつては青線地帯として知られていた黄金町だが、現在ではアートを生かした新しいまちづくりを目指し、地域・アーティストの交流の促進を図り、安全・安心なまちづくり活動に取り組んでいる。
展示場所のbujikoboはかつての飲食店舗を展示スペースとして転用した建物で、間口が狭く奥行きの長い3層の室内空間は白い壁で覆われ窓がなく、黄金町の戦後から現在までの街の動きが反映された建物といえる。
タイトルの「The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog」は、26個すべてのアルファベットを使って文章を作る言葉遊び。 建物に穴をあけて風の抜け道をつくり、狐や犬を建物内外の空気の流れや光に見立てて言葉と空間の関係を探る。
